  1. Open Tools > EQLabs > Creation > Modeling > Mesh Doctor Pro.
  2. Choose Selection, Assigned Object, or Folder scope.
  3. Select meshes, prefabs, model assets, folders, or scene objects with mesh renderers, or drag one into Assigned Mesh/Object.
  4. Click Run Mesh Health Scan.
  5. Use Filter, Sort, and Search to focus large scans.
  6. Assign a Scan Session asset and click Load Scan Session to reopen saved results.
  7. Review readiness, score, topology metrics, UV status, normal confidence, intersections, SDF readiness, audit ID, and production risks.
  8. Click Select on a health card to inspect detailed risk scoring and overlay regions.
  9. Use the thumbnail column and selected-card preview to triage silhouette scale, degenerate bounds, and visually suspicious meshes before opening source assets.
  10. Leave Scene Overlay enabled to draw intersection hot spots in the Scene view.
  11. Set UV0 Projection, UV0 Projection Tiling, and Cleanup Weld Epsilon in In-Engine Repair Defaults when planning duplicate repair actions.
  12. Review Guided Repair in the selected-card detail view to see the recommended first duplicate-safe action.
  13. Click Run Guided Repair to execute the recommended action, or choose a specific repair button manually.
  14. Use Run Batch Guided Repair to run the guided advisor over the current visible health cards after filter, sort, and search are applied.
  15. Use Duplicate + Recalculate Normals, Duplicate + Generate UV0, Duplicate + UV0 Atlas, Duplicate + Generate UV2, or Duplicate + Cleanup Topology to create non-destructive mesh duplicates under Assets/EQLabs/Generated/Create_AnimationModeling/MeshDoctorPro/Fixes.
  16. Review the generated health card that is added after each repair to compare before/after health and SDF readiness.
  17. Check Repair History to see source/result thumbnails, health, SDF, and issue-count deltas for generated duplicate repairs.
  18. Use Select Source, Select Result, or Ping Result from a repair-history row to jump between the comparison cards and generated asset.
  19. Use Export Repair History to write the current repair-history trail as a Markdown handoff report.
  20. Use Create Repair Package Prefab when the original mesh needs a usable Unity package with visible art plus hidden SDF/collision helper proxies.
  21. Use Duplicate + Collision Proxy or Duplicate + SDF Helper Proxy when you only need a standalone helper mesh.
  22. Use Save Health Card Asset or Export Repair Checklist for handoff.
  23. Use Save Scan Session to persist the current audit and repair history as a generated asset.
  24. Use Ping to locate source assets.
  25. Use Export JSON Report for the Mesh Doctor report format.
  26. Use Export CSV Audit for per-mesh spreadsheet triage.
  27. Use Export CSV Summary for grouped folder/readiness/risk totals.
  28. Use Export Project Doctor Report when the scan needs to feed the shared EQLabs Unified QA report format.
  • Guided Repair picks the most useful first action for the selected health card and explains the reason and follow-up actions.
  • Run Batch Guided Repair snapshots the current visible health cards and runs their in-engine guided actions through the same duplicate-safe repair paths.
  • Duplicate + Generate UV0 writes a duplicate mesh and replaces UV0 using the selected projection mode.
  • Duplicate + UV0 Atlas writes a seam-split duplicate mesh using Unity’s per-triangle UV unwrap path.
  • Duplicate + Cleanup Topology removes invalid, degenerate, duplicate, and isolated mesh data from a duplicate mesh.
  • Generated duplicate meshes are saved with readable CPU-side mesh data so they can be used by Painting Lab tools that need vertex, triangle, or UV access.
  • Create Repair Package Prefab writes a prefab under Assets/EQLabs/Generated/Create_AnimationModeling/MeshDoctorPro/RepairPackages with Visual_Repaired enabled, SDF_HelperProxy hidden, and CollisionProxy hidden with a MeshCollider.
  • Duplicate + Collision Proxy creates a simple component-bounds proxy and merges overlapping bounds to avoid self-intersecting proxy boxes.
  • Duplicate + SDF Helper Proxy creates an approximate voxel-shell helper proxy with configurable padding and resolution for SDF, bake, and helper-collision workflows. It is not a visual/source mesh repair and is not intended to replace the final art mesh.
  • For a closer helper proxy, lower Proxy Padding and raise SDF Helper Proxy Resolution. For a shape-preserving visual duplicate, use cleanup, normal, UV0, or UV2 actions first; true self-intersection repair usually needs source topology edits.
  • Guided Repair uses Create Repair Package Prefab for blocked self-intersection, non-manifold, and high-risk open-boundary cases so the artist receives one usable prefab instead of accidentally replacing visual art with a proxy mesh.
  • Repair actions do not mutate imported source meshes.
  • Repair History stores the comparison trail for generated duplicate repairs and is saved/restored with scan sessions.
  • Export Repair History writes a Markdown report under Assets/EQLabs/Generated/Create_AnimationModeling/Reports/MeshDoctorPro/RepairHistory.
  • Self-intersection repair remains a DCC/proxy workflow unless the case is simple enough for a later experimental repair pass.
  1. Enable Audit Imported Models.
  2. Set Import Audit Mesh Limit.
  3. Import an FBX, OBJ, DAE, Blend, glTF, or GLB asset.
  4. Mesh Doctor Pro writes a delayed JSON report under Assets/EQLabs/Generated/Create_AnimationModeling/Reports/MeshDoctorPro/ImportAudits.
  5. Use Refresh Import Dashboard to list recent import-audit reports with mesh counts, readiness counts, issue totals, and worst risk.
  6. Click Load on a dashboard row to reopen the report in the result list.
  7. Click Ping to locate the imported asset when the report still points at a valid asset path.
  8. Use Reveal Import Audits to locate generated import-audit reports.

Mesh cleanup actions are non-destructive. They create duplicate generated assets and do not mutate imported source meshes.

Project Doctor compatible exports use the shared UnifiedQaReport schema and map Mesh Doctor categories to actionable fix kinds where possible.

Import audit mode is opt-in and stores its enabled state in EditorPrefs. It is disabled by default so normal imports are not audited unless the user turns it on.
