Spline Segment Placer
Menu path
Section titled “Menu path”Tools/EQLabs/Creation/Modeling/Spline Segment Placer
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- Places repeated instances of a segment prefab you supply along an editable spline path, for modular roads, pipes, rails, trims, and other repeated runs.
- Adds Bezier handles, per-point roll and width shaping, prefab forward-axis rules, and repeat or stretch placement modes.
- Supports ground projection, surface-normal alignment, lane/path metadata, and optional junction marker prefabs.
- Places scene output under a managed root so the result is easy to clear and rebuild.
This tool does not generate mesh geometry. It places the prefab you assign and reports the placement; a Segment Prefab is required.
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Create or assign a spline profile asset, or generate one of the included starter profiles for roads, rails, or pipe runs.
- Assign the
Segment Prefabyou want repeated along the spline. Placement is refused without one. - Add spline points manually or load them from selected transforms in the scene, then use
Auto Smooth Handlesif you want a curved Bezier run. - Choose repeat or stretch mode, set the prefab forward axis, and tune segment length, global bank, width, and vertical offsets.
- Enable projection if the spline should follow terrain or existing scene surfaces, and mark any control points as junctions if you want optional marker prefabs dropped there.
- Fill in path role and lane metadata if the spline run should carry reviewable road/path semantics in the exported report.
- Place the spline segments and review the placement report before using the result as production geometry.
